Description

Yay, finally done! I may have got slightly carried away with the written part (I can't help it, it's so much fun), but hopefully it's enjoyable to read.

Entry Part 1 (Cory and Lorimon Profile): Here

Entry Part 2 (Lorimon's Evolution Line): Here

Well, here goes...
_________________________________________________

On the outside, the building was completely forgettable. A slightly-rusting stained steel slab of grey lying next to the main road. Everyone ignored it. Even the people who had worked there once barely gave it a second thought. Perhaps that’s why no-one even gave it a second thought when the large, rusted padlock on the gates disappeared. Eh, it was bound to go at some point. There was nothing in there of any worth; why bother about it?

Well, perhaps there was something of worth in there. You just needed to be the right person, in the right place, with the right Digimon.

~

The top window clattered open, sending a shower of dust down to the (already filthy) floor. A shadowy figure, similar in shape to a monkey, but more the size of a large dog, crawled in through the skylight, clinging to the beams with a vice-like grip. It looked around, sniffing the air, before it shimmied down the beams, walls and boxes until it reached the floor.

It headed towards a blue double door and eyed the latches that locked it from the inside. IN a couple of seconds, they were undone. The creature stepped back as the doors rattled, then swung open with a great creak. Another figure walked in; this one definitely human.

“Hmm...it’s not exactly clean in here, is it?”

The human ran his gloved hand over the wall until he found a light-switch. The ancient bulbs flickered into life (well, most of them) revealing the true dilapidated state of the warehouse. Wires hung from the ceiling, letting off faint sparks as electricity coursed through them again. The floor and walls were scratched and scuffed, and faded safety signs were hung everywhere. The warehouse was almost empty, save for a couple of wooden crates stacked in the corners.

The human smiled at his partner. “Thanks, Lorimon. I think this might just be what we’re looking for.”
The primate Digimon smiled down from her perch high on the wall, although her eyes were darting around the room nervously. “Just be quick, okay Cory?”
“Relax,” Cory casually strolled over to one of the boxes in the corner, shifting a couple of other to get a look at the label on the side.

“738-A4. This is the one.” Cory gave the front of the box a quick yank, and it dislodged, revealing the contents. A couple of rows of CDs in transparent-red cases. Quickly, Cory flicked through them, before exclaiming “Aha!” and pulling out the one he’d been looking for.
“Now we can work on finding the others you were telling me about.”
Lorimon cocked her head slightly, a strange expression on her face.

“Do you hear that?”

Cory didn’t have time to answer, since, from the other side of the warehouse, another Digimon came crashing through the old wooden door. It was an anthropomorphic goat, about as tall as a teenager, with thick, fuzzy legs and four curving horns sprouting from its head. Three other figures followed it; a red-haired girl wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, a bored-looking guy with a Mohawk and blue camo trousers, and a large blue bat Digimon who was grinning inanely.
“My, you are quite the hard head, aren’t you?” said Desmon, the bat Digimon. The goat, Oremon, looked at her in an irritated way, but said nothing.

“See Xander, I told you there was someone here.” said the girl, Meghan, as she caught sight of the boy in the corner of the room. The rest of the group followed her gaze, first to the blond boy, then the CD in his hand.

For a brief moment, the boy seemed surprised, perhaps even shocked. Then, almost in an instant, he turned to the motley group, smiling, and gave a small bow.
“Hello there. Were you looking for me, or were you just passing by?”
Xander had his arms folded. He turned to the girl next to him, “Was this guy really worth dragging me halfway across the city for?”

“I don’t understand.” Meghan frowned, “I thought I picked up the data signature of a Digimon here.”
Oremon sighed. “Look, just skip the pleasantries.” He pointed at Cory, who had a look of mock surprise on his face. “Where’s the Digimon?”
Cory shrugged in a way that suggested “What Digimon?”. Oremon growled slightly, and was about to step forward when all of a sudden a furry brown object landed on the ground right in front of him. He let out a surprised bleat and jumped back. Lorimon blinked her three eyes in turn, and held out her hand towards the goat.
“What the hell...”
He cut off as Lorimon gently poked his soft leg, a look of inane curiosity on her face. She said nothing as she turned her gaze to Desmon, staring straight into the bat’s eyes.
Desmon raised her eyebrow, “Xander, it’s looking at me weird. I don’t like it?”
“Lorimon.”
At Cory’s command the loris Digimon backed away from the group, sitting down just in front of her partner. Cory gestured with his free hand. “My name’s Cory. Cory Lennox. This here is my close friend, Lorimon. Pleased to meet you.”
Lorimon gave the group of four a small smile. “Hi there.”
The four looked at the odd couple in stunned silence. Oremon let out a small “Oookay...”

Cory seemed totally unfazed by the whole affair. “Are these the ones? The ones you were telling me about?” he asked his partner.
She turned back, shaking her head. “No, they’re different.”

“Oh well.” Cory checked his watch, “Look, I’m sorry to have wasted your time, but I really ought to be going. I’ve a few things that need doing. Come on, Lorimon.”

Cory was about to turn to leave when Meghan piped up. “Hang on, you can’t just up and leave!”
Cory stopped, listening.
“What are you doing here? And what are you doing with that CD?”

Cory smiled a small smile as he slowly turned back round.
“What, this?” Cory looked at the CD in his hand with mock surprise. “I merely found it.”
“Bullcrap.” Xander folded his arms. “You’re up to something, dude. Why else would you break into an old dump like this?”
“Who says I broke in?”
Oremon growled again. “Don’t play dumb. We’re not stupid.”
“It’s the truth. The door was already open before I walked through it. Think of it as visiting.” Lorimon looked up at her partner with a knowing look.
Cory carried on. “Besides, at least my entrance left the door intact. I’m not sure people look too kindly on smashing through doors.”
Xander and Oremon collectively glared at Cory. Desmon, hovering beside her partner, grinned the more. “Come on, you’ve got to give him that one.”
“I don’t have to give him anything. He’s pissing me off.”

Cory put his hands behind his back. He was enjoying this far more than he probably should have.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you look amateur.”
Oremon planted his hands into fists. “What was that?”
“Nothing important, don’t worry yourself.”

Meghan put her hand out to calm her partner. “Don’t listen to him, he’s trying to get to you.”

The goat was finding ‘not listening to him’ tough going. His teeth were gritted as he fought against the urge to run up to the boy and punch him in the stomach. To make matters worse, Lorimon had barely moved from her spot; all she was doing was staring at him creepily.

Cory carried on. This was going just the way he’d hoped.
“What’s the matter, Oremon? You seem a little tense. Maybe you just need to let off a little steam, that’s all.”
Now Meghan was glaring at the blond boy. “Stop it! We haven’t done anything to you, this is uncalled for.”
Cory shrugged. “I’m not doing anything. Your goat just appears to want to take me down a few pegs.”

Oremon clenched his fists harder. “Meghan...”

“Surely a little sparring can’t cause too much harm, can it?” Cory stepped back, his arms open wide. “You against Lorimon. One-on-one. Show me who’s boss. Am I right?”

Even Desmon was looking on at the goat anxiously at this point. Xander looked on darkly, “Guy, you’ve got a problem.” Meghan was trying to hold on to her partner, but it was ever clearer to the assembled group that there was going to be a brawl.

Without saying a word, Lorimon stood up on her rear hand-like feet. Her expression was completely blank. Behind her, Cory kept on smiling, CD still in his hand. The sun shone through the open skylight, casting sunbeams between the two groups.

“It’s all very well to claim you have the power. To claim you can stop the little man. But that’s not enough.”
“Meghan...I’m sorry...”
“Come on! Show me! What are you waiting for?”

With an angered battle bleat, Oremon rushed forward towards Lorimon, head down and ready to ram the loris into next week. Lorimon herself held out her palm, as if that could stop the oncoming goat. Wisely, Cory chose to take a couple of steps back. He knew the drill from here.

Xander put his head in his hands. “Oh, this can only end well...”

Needless to say, it didn’t.

Oremon was charging straight towards the stoic Lorimon. Quietly, and still staring directly at the goat, Lorimon gently cracked her knuckles with a whispered cry of “Finger Snap.”

All of a sudden, Oremon felt his legs buckle underneath him, as if he’d suddenly turned into a rag doll. He crashed to the ground, his momentum making him roll over, as he cried out in anguish.
“What the hell?!”

Cory brought his arms down and looked at the fallen goat with an amused expression.
“You know, you were doing so well up until the point where you fell down. It really ruins the intimidation tactic, you know.”

“Yeah, well that’s just cheating.” said Xander, annoyance in his voice.
Desmon landed beside him, “I think he may need some help. May I?”
“Be my guest.” Xander pulled Meghan back, knowing they couldn’t stop the fight here. Cory did the same, leaving the three Digimon plenty of space to battle. Xander whispered into the girl’s ear. “This could get messy.”

“Black Static!”

Desmon let out a screech, forming rings of black, flickering energy that shot towards Lorimon, who quickly leapt out the way. The rings just missed her, crashing into the wall behind her. Cory didn’t flinch; he merely chuckled.

“Watch it, you might hit someone.”

Meghan looked worriedly over at Oremon, but the goat had found his strength and had got to his feet, moving towards Lorimon, who was trying to disable Desmon. Oremon threw a punch, but Lorimon saw at the last second, barely twisting out the way.
“Oh no you don’t! Iron Head!”

Oremon grasped Lorimon by the arms and brought his head forward straight into her chest. She skittered away across the floor, quickly getting to her feet again and facing the two angry Rookies before her.
Oremon harrumphed, swinging his hair from his eyes. “Not so tough now, are you?”
Cory ground his teeth, looking slightly concerned. “You know Lorimon, maybe you ought to deal with them a little faster?”
“Give me a break,” Oremon folded his arms, his temper waning slightly. “There’s two of us and only one of her.”
Desmon flapped her wings a couple of times, a smirk on her face. “Yeah, I think you’re on thin ice, bub.”

Nobody noticed Lorimon, who had sat down, focusing her eyes on her targets. Cory shrugged. “I suppose you’re right. Of course, if you’re on thin ice, you need to watch your footing.”
Oremon stepped forward, “I think you need another lesson.”
“Not this time.” Lorimon tilted her head to the side, with another whisper.

“Eye Lock!”

The whole room tilted. Oremon swerved wildly and ended up running towards Desmon, who yelped and rolled out of the way. Oremon crashed into the wall (floor?) and lay in a crumpled heap. Desmon, angry now, turned towards the loris, but Lorimon simply tipped her head a little more, knocking Desmon off her feet.

Cory carried on talking, unphased by the whole thing. “She’s over here. You kind of missed her.”

“Just shut up already!” Oremon twisted round and, fist clenched, planted his hand into the metal floor. “Earth Wrecker!”

Desmon joined in too, “Black Static!”

With a simple nod of Lorimon’s head, both attacks flew way off the mark, simply causing more damage. She smiled, and flipped her head the other way. The room lurched, sending everything on one side sliding and tumbling over to the other side, Oremon and Desmon included. Desmon tried to take to the air, but with her sense of direction completely screwed up she swerved and crashed into Oremon. “Yow!”

Lorimon, still concentrating, spun her head again, unnaturally far this time. Oremon and Desmon crashed into the other wall again, before slowly sliding up towards the ceiling. Desmon was yelling, “Close your eyes! Stop looking at her!”
“I’m...trying...” Oremon was silenced as a box crashed into him.

The three humans, unaffected as they were by Lorimon’s gaze, watched as the room descended into chaos. Meghan and Xander looked up in awe at their partners apparently disobeying the law of gravity, scrunched in the corner of the ceiling as they were. Meghan looked towards Lorimon, “What the hell are you?”
Cory leant forward, giving the two Rookies a smile. “You’re not afraid of heights, are you?”
Xander stepped forward, “Dude, that’s just sick.”
Desmon called down from up above. “Anyway, I’m a bat! I’m used to heights, it’s crazy mind-screws that irk me a little.”

“Oh please. I’m merely jesting.” Cory looked down at his watch. “Mind you, Lorimon and I do need to be going. We have important stuff to do.” He gestured to his partner, “Okay, let them down now.”
Lorimon blinked, breaking contact in an instant. Slowly, the room realigned itself. Boxes slid back to their original positions, wires reattached themselves, and the two Rookies gently slid down the wall into the corner, severely dizzy. Cory bowed his head at the stunned group. “It’s been fun. Till we meet again. Come on Lorimon.”

Lorimon was looking curiously at the two partners, who were slowly untangling themselves. Cory looked back, “Lorimon?”
Oremon and Desmon both glared at the primate, who merely waved back with a smile. “Bye! See you later!”

She followed after her tamer, who closed the door behind him. Aside from the opened crate, there was no sign he’d ever been there. Oremon looked at Desmon, “What the hell just happened?”

The two tamers ran over to their partners, who, while bumped and bruised, were unharmed. Meghan looked at Xander, “Who was that guy?”
“I have no idea, but I think I hate him.”
Oremon harrumphed. “Seconded.”

Done! :faint:

I pretty much blagged everything in the story, so hopefully it fits with what :iconkazzooki:'s doing. I tried to write your characters as best I could; I hope I did them justice. Mind you, I kind of feel bad beating up someone else's Digimon (although I enjoy doing it to my own, for some reason)

Also, I couldn't help myself with Lorimon's pose. STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE!

Hope you like it, and good luck to everyone entering. :#1:
