That was partly inspired by the book Hybrids by David Thorpe.

So, most of the time when entering the Digital World, the tamers are met with a certain level of convenience. Digivices are small, handheld devices with a variety of functions, they often meet up with their partners very quickly, and the world, while often dangerous, does at least provide and give them help along the way to solve the current problem. That makes sense. Yggdrasil is a living, breathing entity and will take what measures it can to protect itself.

Except, what if, for some reason, it couldn’t help the tamers to the best of its ability? What if there was an entity, a trickster, who instead of wanting to destroy or take over the world, just simply wanted to fuck around with the way it works? What if the rules and precautions that Yggdrasil put down were to be thrown out the window and bent in insane ways?

Picture this…

Five children wake up one morning to discover they’ve received a Digivice. Only it isn’t a mobile phone, or a handheld device of any sort; for each of them, their bodies have been taken over by a huge ugly chunk of metal and alloy. Melded around their arms, their backs or even their faces, a hodgepodge of wires and buttons and screens; heavy, painful, alien and impossible to remove.

Obviously they freak out, as does everybody around them. But they’re not the only reason. Computer systems around the world are going haywire, throwing the civilised world into panic as people fear the Millennium Bug has finally arrived.

There is one hope though; as scientists and the government bring the children together, they discover their biomechanical appendages might have the power to pull the children inside the malfunctioning Digital world. They receive a message; a call for help from a world in chaos. With no other choice, they send the children through to meet up with their designated partners…

Only for the children to find a reality twisted together and knotted into a carnival of nightmares. Flying oceans, pained Digimon chimeras, sadistic and hyper-powerful In-Training levels, the denizens of the Dark Area roaming free, and as for their partners? Nowhere to be found.

For a joke, this sure ain’t no laughing matter.

Digimon Error 404.

Good, lord this sounds like Khaosdvaramon at his nuttiest. (My fan digimon). You could have the pained Digimon chimeras as forcibly digi-fuzed digimon.
